Android 7.1 – Later this month

After the launch of Android 7.0 Nougat in August 2016, Android 7.1 is expected to be released for beta testing by end of October 2016. Its coming with some major feature updates as in a major release even though Google is calling it as an incremental update. Significant of these is Google’s new Daydream VR platform.

Also its expected to have one major feature which lagged android from iOS the support for direct images on keyboard. Its will be so easy to share an image without having the hurdle to copy and paste the link. The 7.1 also accommodates all resources for making all icons circular. The resource will be useful for developers building android apps. Another added advantage for developers is the APP shortcuts. Using this developers can add upto 5 shortcuts in home screen apps. To preview and beta test Android 7.1 later this month join Android Beta program from the original Nougat previews. The update will be available to try for the Nexus 5 series, 6P, Pixel C. The android 7.1 Nougat will extend its support to other android devices by end of the preview time.
